Caesar was an active sportsman and hunter of large game;he maintained a lodge in Canada for that purpose. His youngest son, Charles Unger Caesar, stayed on at Lauriston, which passed from the family following the 1942 death of Laura. The property had a number of owners in the 1940's, and was subdivided by the 1950's. Three houses were built in front of Lauriston about 1954-1962.
